The laboratory of Prof. Tomer Shlomi in the Faculty of Computer Science and the Technion's Faculty of Biology studies the processes of metabolism in cancer through a combination of experimental and computational methods. The purpose of this study is to understand how the metabolic process in cancer cells goes wrong and how to use this understanding for diagnostic and therapeutic needs. The laboratory combines researchers from experimental biology, analytical chemistry and computer science. Prof. Shlomi is a co-founder of Metabomed, which focuses on developing drugs for metabolic proteins.
